Ideas are everywhere. What's rare is the space, the community, and the structured support to turn them into something real.

The Africa Safari Social Innovation Lab is an intensive, hands-on programme for social entrepreneurs, community leaders, and changemakers who are working on — or ready to start — an African-led social innovation. Over the course of the Lab, you will develop your concept, stress-test your model, learn from peers, and leave with a clear next step and a community behind you.

What the Lab Covers

• Problem definition & community insight — using African knowledge systems and community-led approaches to understand the real problem you are solving
• Social innovation models — exploring African and global frameworks for sustainable social enterprise, including earned income, cooperative models, and mission-aligned commerce
• Ubuntu-centred design — developing solutions that centre dignity, belonging, and community agency rather than imposing external fixes
• Business model & sustainability — moving from idea to viable model, with practical tools for financial sustainability and impact measurement
• Pitching & storytelling — communicating your innovation compellingly to funders, partners, and communities
• Peer learning & feedback — structured peer review, facilitated critique, and collaborative problem-solving throughout

Programme Format

• Duration: 2-day intensive Lab at the Netherlands Campus, with optional follow-up coaching sessions
• Cohort size: Limited to 12 participants to ensure depth of engagement
• Investment: €495 per person — includes all materials, meals, and follow-up session
• East Africa link: optional mentorship connection with Africa Safari's Uganda and Kenya networks
