For centuries, African ways of knowing, healing, governing, and teaching have been marginalised in favour of Western academic traditions. This workshop brings them back to the centre — not as folklore, but as living, rigorous, and deeply relevant frameworks for understanding the world.

- African epistemologies — how African societies have historically produced, transmitted, and applied knowledge across generations
- Oral tradition as scholarship — storytelling, proverb, and communal memory as legitimate and powerful knowledge systems
- Ubuntu as a philosophical framework — its roots in African thought and its applications beyond leadership, in ethics, justice, and education
- Indigenous African approaches to health, governance, and ecology — what these offer to contemporary practice
- Decolonising the curriculum — practical approaches for educators and institutions who want to integrate African knowledge into their programmes
- Knowledge and power — who decides what counts as knowledge, and what happens when we challenge that
